“Joost Up Colors”, 20 x 20 inches, ink and color pencil on paper

Here are a few detail shots and a work in progress look at my latest drawing. This is the first in a series of drawings with color schemes inspired by the architecture, interiors, and art books in my collection.

“Joost Up Colors”, 20 x 20 inches, Faber-Castell Pitt artist pigment ink pens and Polychromos color pencil on Fabriano Artistico 100% cotton paper.

Ink and color pencil line drawing with colorful overlapping line figures in a 12-point floral geometric shape. My color palette derives from a Joost Schmidt design for the cover of “Offset. Buch und Werbekunst heft 7” that graces the book jacket of “Workshops for Modernity Bauhaus 1919-1933”, one of my favorite books, picked it up at the MOMA exhibit of the same name.
