Homage to a colorful sunrise

There is nothing like a beautiful rosy, pink, purple and red sunrise over the water. The glow is amazing. This drawing “Morning Glory” is inspired by those magnificent sunrises. Which I’m lucky to say I see often having a lake out my window.

Below is a time-lapse process video of “Morning Glory” in the makings.

Four ink colors were used in this drawing to create the gradient effect — purple, maroon, red and pink. I totally lost track of the number of individual patterns drawn. The perimeter of the drawing has thirty-six star points. “Morning Glory” pigment ink on 100% cotton Strathmore bristol board, 17 x 14 inches. Available in my webshop.
