Same drawing, different ballpoint pens

Each of these drawing is composed of the same 20 hypotrochoid line plots. The drawing method and number of line plots is identical, what changes is the ball-point pen used to draw each one. Drawings measure approximately 10 inches in diameter, they are on 17×14 Strathmore 500 Bristol board.

Pens used were, from top to bottom, Schneider 775 Fine ballpoint ink which is the lightest, with finer detail showing; Zebra Surari 1.0 mm ballpoint emulsion ink which left ink hazing all over the drawing as the ink doesn’t dry as fast; and a Dong-A Anyball 1.4 mm ballpoint pen which is the darkest, least detailed drawing as the pen point is thickest.
