
I often draw the identical line plots using different ink color variations. Well versed in mixing color shades in oil and acrylic from my earlier days as a painter, mixing paint on a palette didn’t quite prepare me for the color illusion achievable in my drawing discipline. I investigate ink and pencil color combinations in detail on the single figures that appear in my multi-figure line drawings.
Pictured here are six drawings composed of the same line plots. Drawings are done in two ink colors. From a distance these drawings appear as solid colors, a mixing of the two ink shades.
